I guess I should post....

Not very much exciting has happened to me, since my last post. School has been going well, we havent got to do very much yet. Our processor isnt up and running so we havent been able to do any experiments in lab. That has meant we have had shorter labs than normal. Although today in lab we were able to do the first practice positioning and procedures. We did a KUB, upright abdomen and decubitus abdomen. Basically, the three most common of abdomen x-ray procedures. It wasnt that bad and I think it will go well. Monday we have our first quiz in physics and film acquisition. Hopefully, it will go well the only thing that I am worried about in that way is the conversions. There should only be 3 because its only a 10 question quiz, but I guess we will see how it all works out. Keep your fingers crossed I do well. Other than that the only thing has been work. This past weekend was actually a good weekend at work. It was how it was all last year. We were busy and I made over $100 a night. Thank goodness things are going to turn around and hopefully it will continue through October. I think the mild weather that has finally come is helping. Its quite odd here for this time of year. This week has been the fair and typically thats the hottest week of August, but instead the heat and humidity have subsided and its really very pleasant. I dont know what to think of it though. I am afraid that it will mean an early, quite long, and extremely cold winter. But with this crazy weather there is no telling, maybe this nice weather is just a fluke and will pass and go back to hot. All I care about is it being nice fall weather for my birthday.

Last Week and the First Day of School

Last week was busy. I went Monday to moms to dye her hair. Then that evening I went to Chase's game. The Tuesday Chase and I drove up to Cincinnati for the Cardinals v Reds series. It was awesome. The hotel, not so much. It had a great location and the lobby was super nice. But the we got in the room, it was small, had two double beds, an old tv with a terrible dark picture, and the bathroom had an entire other list of things wrong with it. But whatever, it was only $82 off hotwire, although I am not sure Id ever use that site again. Anywho, we headed to the night game on Tuesday and we could walk there, so that was nice and that part of downtown Cinci is nice. The game was lots of fun, we got there like 30 minutes early and had good seats. About 15 minutes into the game the sun went down the other side of the ballpark and the temperature greatly improved. Even though it was a hot night it was bearable with the sun not beating down. We saw the awesome fight that was started by Brandon Phillips and Yaddy Molina. For those of you who dont watch sports, it was a bench clearer and super long and awesome. Both managers got ejected for the entire game. Then we saw this girl and guy behind us both go head over heels for a foul ball, which was sweet. We also saw a grand slam, had a couple of skyline chili-cheese dogs, and the Cardinals won. Then we went back to the hotel and had a drink and went to the room. We then realized since we werent so hot that we were hungry and got a Papa Johns pepperoni pizza and ate the entire thing. The next morning we got our stuff together and checked out of the hotel. Then we went and bought two tickets off one of the many scalpers. This game was at 1215 on Wednesday and it was super hot. We had tickets in about the same spot which was great. We sat through the first 3 innings then had to get out of the sun for awhile. Once we sat back down with our ice chills, a couple innings later the clouds came rolling in then in the 7th it rained. We had to take a rain break for about 40 minutes then it cleared up and we finished the game. Cardinals won again, we swept the Reds! Then it was time to get on the road home. We got to the 75 71 split in N. KY and 71 S was closed, so we decided to drive past it and get off and drive around the 8 car wreck that was in the way, which is a good thing because even with a 40 minute delay on the detour the road was still not opened when we got to 71 again outside of Warsaw. But it was smooth sailing home for us!
The rest of the week involved work, work and more work, for no money what so ever. I am not going to comment on that any longer since you have heard that before.
Today I went to school for the first day. It sucked to have to get up that early at 640, to leave by 710, to get to school before 8. Gotta love east end to downtown traffic. We had all three of our classes today but the lectures were a little shorter than normal, so we got out at 2, but they said not to expect that to happen again or often. Normally, Mondays we will be there until 4 or 430 at least. I just hope we can get out before 5 when downtown goes to all hell and the drive home takes forever. I really like the teachers and think that it is going well. I am getting to know a few other people in our class slowly and everyone I have met seems nice and fun so far. It seems like there is going to be a lot of information to absorb and mostly it seems like it will be hard to discern what material is for which class because they all sort of cover the same basic information. I am sure it will be more clear as we get a little more into things.
Tomorrow I am going to see JoJo, Chase is going to Illinois with his dad for two days to check out this hunting property he is going to hunt on once or twice in the fall. So, tomorrow night I am going to be lonely and bored it seems, I guess I will look over my school stuff.

The Past Week

Not very much exciting has been happening. Work is still super shitty. So, I am just not going to comment on that. Because there is no good news just more me complaining about the entire situation.
On the other hand I went to my second orientation for my program and that went well. I have to go down on Monday to give Don some paperwork to put in my file. I am going to pick up my parking permit while I am there. I will only have school two days a week until October, then I will have school two days and clinicals two days. I got Jewish East as my clinical site, so I will be off Dutchmans for that. Which isnt as bad as going downtown. But I have to be there at 730 meaning working at 730, so I will have to do a test run and see how long it takes to get down there and be there by 705. I am going to work some while in school, more until October then much less. I have decided though that I am not working on Sundays anymore period. I need that day to rest, regroup and get ready for the week as well as be ready for any tests etc. If they wont work with me on this I will tell them just to take me off the schedule completely. Because I am not going to wear myself out for them anymore. Its not that big of a request but we will see how it works out. I did have a temporary freak out with my financial aid. I got $1500 a semester this year and tuition is only $1250, so it will be covered. But the day I got my letter saying the aid was awarded it was no longer visible on my peoplesoft account. So, I spent two days calling down there, sitting on hold for 30 minutes at a time, left 3 messages, sent an email, and finally on the second day at 352pm someone picked me up off hold (it was the second time i had been on hold for 30 minutes that day) and she said that it was odd that the aid wasnt visible on my peoplesoft but that the grant was there on the school information so not to worry, my tuition will be paid. Then I found out that FAFSA doesnt award the money until Sept 2. Which seems really stupid to me, they should pay it when school starts and the money is due not three weeks later. Whatever as long as it get paid I guess.
Next week Chase and I are going to Cincinnati for a St. Louis Cardinals game vs the Reds. I am excited because we are getting to go do something just us again before school starts for me. Plus, I have never been to a professional baseball game. Also, we will be out of town so that will be fun. We never get to do things so I am very excited. Ill make sure to write next week after we get back and tell you all about it. Until then its time to finish laundry and ironing so I can go to stupid ass work tonight.

Work = Not Cool

The heading to this poat may make people think, well duh, work is not cool or fun. The sad thing is it used to be a little of both, at least most of the time. But lately it been the opposite. I am always going in as the 4 or the 1030 which is an opener for either shift and then I get cut before I ever have a chance to make any money. So, I go in and do all the leg-work and then everyone else saunters in and takes tables, make lots of money and leave. It is really starting to piss me off. Like today for example, I got in at 1030 and Saturdays are always super slow. So, I had all of two tables over the course of 4 hours and made all of $10, but tonight I am going to go back and get cut early because I am a dbl, even though I made no money and we did everything to be prepared for the night shift. Its really a lot of bullshit. I wish Chase would find a new job, because then they would piss me off and I would quit. Sure, Id have to find a different part time job to supplement the income but itd be better than putting up with this shit all the time.

The Simple Things

Its really sad, that as we get older we get really excited about simple stupid things. For example, I am super pumped about my car insurance going down. As of recently, I have been paying $800 every 6 months for liability. Since, my wreck has finally been settled and everything now removed, I can get a new quote. Now I am able to pay $560 something for full coverage every 6 months! Can you imagine that much of a change? I am so excited. Oh, and thats with only a $500 deductible, thats crazy good. The only thing is I have to get the chip in my windsheild fixed before they will put comprehensive and collision on my car. So, that is todays mission. I am headed out to Poplar Level to GlassDoctor in a bit to have my chip patched, but I am not going back to get the insurance put on until after the first, because I have a shit-ton of bills coming out and they will want another down payment when I add the comp and collision.
Also today, the cable company came and fixed our internet, phone and cable. Our internet and phone are going out randomly 3 to 4 times a day for maybe 5 minutes maybe 20 minutes. Its really annoying. The guy ran us a new line from the pole to the house and is putting a monitor on our service for a few days to see if it keeps going out why it is still going out. But I am hoping that the new line will fix the situation and nothing else will happen and we dont continue to have this issue.
Tomorrow I am going to see JoJo. We are going to order my books online for school, I checked and Ill save approx $125 by ordering them through Amazon rather than buying them from the bookstore. Also, I need new work shoes, pants, and if I can manage it I am going to get her to get me some mederma and my Imitrex prescription. Normally, I would try to get the meds myself, but work has been slow and money is not been perfect, plus I need like $200 more before my bills are due Friday. So, everyone keep your fingers crossed that I make some seriously good money tonight.

Good News

Well, so far so good on blogging closer together. I got my background check report back last night, and it had my drug test result attached. I didnt know they were going to send my drug test results in with my background check. But they did and I passed! There was nothing in my system at all. Which it says that 50 nanograms of cannabinoids will cause you to fail. That is like 0.00000005 grams. So, an extremely small amount. I am just so excited that things went well and I have nothing to worry about. I am in my program free and clear, and on the way to my future. Things are going so well in my life now. I feel like everything is finally falling into place. I really couldnt be happier in my own life. Obviously, I wish things were better for my parents, but as for my life I am very happy right now.

Ok, Ok, so its been a long time

Again, I am going to try to get caught up on this and then actually stay caught up. I have been thinking of updating lately, but I know how long it has been so it seemed a daunting task. Today though I am prepared and I have nothing else to do so I might as well get on it.
School ended well, I got all A's and I got into my program! That's right I was one of twenty-one people they picked to be in the radiography program for 2010-2012. By May of 2012 I will be a certified Rad Tech! Well, all that is pending on the drug test I just took yesterday. I have quit smoking weeks ago and been drinking a lot of water, but I was still petrified that I would not pass it. Chase just keeps telling me I have done all I could and that it will be fine. I pray that it is because otherwise I am totally screwed in regards to school, and I will have to tell my JoJo (and the rest of my family) that I cant be in the program because I couldnt pass a drug test due to THC. That is super pathetic, I know I can stay quit for the entire length of the program its only 21 months starting next month, and that is completely worth it for a career and the rest of my life. I just hope I quit soon enough. If all goes well I am going to my second orientation on Aug 3rd and will find out the rest of the details of the program and my schedule. So, everyone keep your fingers crossed that I will pass my drug test!
Chase and I went on vacation and it was absolutely wonderful. First, we went to Naples, FL and getting there was an adventure. Delta put us on our plane and took us off twice before we left, and if I hadnt used priceline to book our flights we wouldnt have been scheduled a later flight in Atlanta and would have gotten stuck there, we got to Tampa 4 hours late. Which sucked because we didnt get to spend much time there with his family that is in the area. Although the people I did meet were very nice and it was a good visit even if it was cut short because we had to drive to Naples which is about 2 and a half hours south of Tampa. When we got to the hotel it was super nice. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort. The reason we were staying at the Ritz was because Jim and Morgan were getting married at the beach resort. That night and the next day we just spent time together and had a great time. The next evening we had the meet and greet with the wedding party, their families, and friends. It was great to get to see Gabe and Kevin, as well as Jim, Morgan, and their families. We all had a good time and the hors douievers were great, plus free drinks! After the meet and greet we went to the sushi bar and had some really good sushi and more drinks. The next day was Sunday and it was the wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and perfect, Morgan cried the entire time. Rob came down from Sarasota that day so we hung out with him before the wedding. After the wedding we had drinks, took pictures, and then had a nice meal at a long table followed by more drinks, music, and cake.
The next morning we headed to Melbourne, where Chase's uncle has a beach house. Melbourne is just a little south of Cocoa Beach, so we had to drive across Florida and to the north, it took like 3 almost 4 hours. When we got there, it was really nice, the Atlantic coast is very different from the Gulf coast. On the Gulf the water is very calm and warm and on the Atlantic there are a lot of waves and it is cooler. We had a few days there by ourselves before his uncle, aunt, cousin, and there friends and family came. Rob came and spent a day with us before his family came. At first just his aunt, her friend, and his cousin came. We had lots of fun with them. Although, we went to this little bar with his cousin and the end of that night was not very fun. Chase thinks I got drugged, cause I got extremely sick and the next day was very bad, like not hangover bad, it was completely different, I felt like I was having a panic attack and I couldnt eat but wasnt really throwing up, plus I was super weak almost unable to get up half the day. But by the evening it passed. Chase took care of me the entire time, he was so wonderful. It was here that he also told me he loved me. So, obviously now we are completely official. After the day in bed, the rest of everyone started to show up and we had some good food, followed by a great day at the beach together the next day. But then it was time to go home. Which really was not ideal.
Ever since we have been home things have been perfect. Chase and I are always together. He is completely different than before the trip. I could not be happier. I think this is for good, he and I and it makes me so happy and content. We always spend time together when we arent at work whenever we can.
On a much less happy note, while I was in Florida, my mom got sick and had to be in the hospital for a few days, she was still there when I came back actually. This particular sickness sent her cancer into a fit. Her oncologist told her she was now in stage 2 of her cancer and that she needed chemo. They wanted her to do 6 months of chemo. During this time she cant spend a lot of time in the public, really any time, and cannot be around babies. She only has to receive the chemo 2 days of each month, but it makes her very weak for a while after receiving the medicine. We have now done the first two months worth of treatments. These two times I have taken her one day and JoJo the next. Because next month I will be in school and wont be able to help, so JoJo will have to take her the entire time and thats hard on her. She will be 70 next month and although she is in good health its very stressful and she doesnt drive as well as she believes she does. On a good note the first treatment mom received went extremely well, and while we were there receiving the second treatment her doctor said she was doing so well that if it continued like this he may not have her do the entire 6 months. That would be wonderful, because the last months treatment would be around Christmas time so mom wouldnt be able to do any shopping and would feel sick the week directly before Christmas. But things are looking up and I am praying that they continue that way.
Work is driving me crazy, I am so sick of working with lazy people and pulling more than my fair share of the weight. If it wasnt for the fact that I get the shifts I want and some preferential treatment due to being part of the family basically, and that I dont want to have to learn a new restaurants way of doing things I wouldnt be there any longer. Lately, its also been slow due to the extreme heat we are experiencing this summer. It got hot in June and has never cooled down. It has felt like August all month, at this point I am just waiting for September and hoping that fall kicks in early with a little relief.
Dad still doesnt have a job, but Velinda gave us a good lead on one. I am hoping that it will work out well, if he doesnt get a full time job by the winter when the mowing stops, he wont have enough money to keep the house. Chase said we could live together if I have no where to go, but I dont know what my dad will do. Unless his girl friend suddenly changes and wants him to come live with her.
I lost my Buddy Dog. I came home from work one night and he was laying paralyzed on the floor. Chase rushed here to help me take him to the emergency vet. They said he had encephalitis and that it would take weeks to help him and then he may only get back to 60% of himself. I could not up him through all that. So many treatments, living alone in a little cage, I could only visit him an hour a day really. We had to let him go, it was extremely hard and sad. I still miss him so much most of the time. I just hope he knew how much we loved him and that I did all I could for him. Right now, I am not going to get a new dog. I want to wait and see how school goes and how much free time I really have. JoJo is going to help me with money, but I will still have to work some as well as the fact I will need to spend more time studying than I have in the past.
Chase finally met all my friends except Chad and Tiff, Chris and Laura had a big party for their birthday and we actually got to go. I think he liked Kurt and Ashley best, which is good since they are the most important, being my brother and sister-in-law and all.
I think I have covered everything from the end of the school year through today now. I am going to try to update once a week or every couple of days. But I have failed at that goal in the past, hopefully this time I will do better. I wont be going anywhere so that should help.
